Now in its seventh year, On The Same Page is an annual community reading event hosted by the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County and supported by community partners including CET. The mission of this annual event is to enhance our sense of community through a shared reading event which encompasses all of Hamilton County. Bronx Masquerade by Nikki Grimes was selected as the youth title for 2008. As a Japanese American, Mr. Aka was considered an "enemy alien" by the U.S. government directly after the attack even though he had been a citizen since birth. He volunteered for the 442nd Combat Regiment, but was recruited for a secret intelligence mission. WW2 Dorothy LangDorothy Lang tells about her experience as a Navy nurse during WWII. Mrs. Lang was stationed in the Pacific in a general hospital. While in Hawaii, she met and married a bomber pilot. WW2 Veteran Carl TuggleCarl Tuggle served in the Navy during WW2. Mr. Tuggle chose to join the Navy because they were less segregated than other branches of the service.
