Great Living Cincinnatians 2009 - Program Video

The Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber has recognized four individuals as Great Living Cincinnatians for 2009. They are Raymond L. Brokamp, Paul Flory, Joseph P. Hayden Jr. and Ross Love.

Great Living Cincinnatian Ross Love

Ross Love's life centers on three major endeavors: his successful career with Procter & Gamble, where he served as vice president of global advertising; Blue Chip Broadcasting, which he founded and grew to become the second largest African-American owned broadcasting company in the U.S.; and his dedication to public service. Love has volunteered with the Partnership for a Drug Free America and Cincinnati CAN, a group he initiated and co-chaired to address racial disparities in Cincinnati.

Great Living Cincinnatian Paul Flory

Paul Flory worked for Procter and Gamble when, in 1975, he accepted, as a volunteer, the position of director of a local tennis tournament. Upon his retirement from P&G in 1987, Flory devoted his full attention to making the Western & Southern Financial Group Masters and Women's Open tournaments the area's only international sporting events. These events raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for local charities.

Great Living Cincinnatian Joe Hayden

Joseph P. Hayden Jr., chairman and CEO of The Midland Company, started his career there when he was 14. During his tenure, he grew the company by positioning it as a specialty insurer of those things other companies didn't want to cover. In addition to his business career, Hayden applied his talents to help build a local team into one of the most renowned amateur baseball programs in the nation.

Great Living Cincinnatian Ray Brokamp

Ray Brokamp's life exemplifies public service. Much of his career has been spent in education and he retired after 34 years with the Cincinnati Public Schools. In 1987 he was named director of the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber's Leadership Cincinnati, a position he held until June 2008.
